I Love You More Than...

Hello friends

The end of the month - wow...where did March go?

Today a different card using some of Seth Apter's Spellbinders Altered Page dies.
This is Coffee Ring and Robo Star.
My background is a piece of paper from my scrap box that has been spritzed
with glimmer mist.  The coffee ring die cuts were cut from kraft card and again
spritzed...I get carried away once that bottle is in my hand!

The wording is printed straight onto the patterned paper using my pc and printer.
The font is Castellar.

The enamel dots added to the coffee splodges!

Not my usual style of card but I enjoyed making it.
A useful card for a man or indeed a coffee addict.

Seth has brought out some really interesting dies in this Altered Page range and
they are all available from retailers now.

If you attend any of my demos you will know that I make up sample books
for every die(!) so I should have quite a lot of projects to share with you soon.

Take care friends, I'm back tomorrow with Friday Die Day.

Thanks x 4!

Hello friends

I hope you are all safe and well following the storm,
quite a lot of damage with fallen trees
and travel was definitely hampered with road closures.
I spent Easter at home and I've been particularly restrained with
eating chocolate...not sure how long that will last!

Today a 'Thanks' card, easy to do so perfect for batch making,
My base and mat is 6 x 6 Matting Basics and the the multiple
'Thanks' are Phrase Set One.
I wasn't sure at first if I liked the font but I really do now!
I've cut and kept the negative placing coloured card behind
raised up with Crafty Foam Tape.

The matching coloured flower is Blooms One and the leaves are
from Romantic Blooms One.

Sometimes it is the speedy simple makes that I like the most!

Wishing you all a good start to the week...always a bit confusing when
a Bank Holiday is thrown in!

Take care friends.

Easter Wishes

Hello friends

A quick post today to wish you all a very happy
Easter Sunday.

I nearly forgot that hour and
the weather has definitely turned to typical bank holiday -
rain with a little bit more rain!

I hope it doesn't dampen any of your plans and you have a wonderful day.

Take care and I'm back very soon.

Easter Egg Makeover 2!

Hello friends

It must be time to share another Easter egg makeover!
These are so easy to make and it really jazzes up a regular egg.
This one features Create A Daisy and the bunting is created with 3D Foam Pennants
from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L.
There is a full tutorial on how to make the Daisy flower here.
Instead of securing with twine I chose a mini peg.

A piece of A4 card isn't quite long enough but easy enough to put the join to
the back or hide with decorative paper.

It's a great way to really personalise an Easter egg
and can be made any size although obviously large is good!

Take care friends.

Good Friday Die Day!

Hello friends

A Good Friday Die Day this week!

I'm featuring Labels 50 Decorative Elements.
The die set consists of four dies, I've nested them for the photo and
the approximate measurements are:

1: 1.15 x 1.15 in
2: 2.25 x 2.25 in
3: 3.50 x 3.50 in
4: 4.15 x 4.15 in

This is how they look cut/embossed.
#1 has particularly lovely embossed detail.

I really like the faux stitch detail around the largest die.
I've cut this twice, from white card and teal colour.
Cut the teal colour die cut in half.

Place the two teal sections behind the white die cut to
create a shadow top and bottom.

I've nested this onto two square mats of card created with
6 x 6 Matting Basics A and B.

Attached twine, tied bow and placed a further die cut from this set #3
over the top with 3D foam squares.

The finishing touches - stamped tag, two tiny flowers with enamel dots to the centres.

Wishing you all a lovely Easter.
May it bring you what you wish...including a little bit of chocolate!

Take care friends.

Egg Makeover!

Hello friends

Sharing today an Easter egg wrap - this was the very first one I made...
quite a few years ago!
It features Spellbinders Classic Scalloped Ovals Large,
Bauble Blossoms and Foliage (cut from white felt).

This is so easy to make and really give the egg a personal touch.
Just score your card the approximate width of the base of the egg and
you can secure the egg to the base of the card sleeve with
3D Foam Squares or Dodz from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L.

Purple card obviously complements the best chocolate in the world...
in my opinion!

Take care friends, I'm back soon with more Easter ideas.

Easter Birdhouse

Hello friends

As Easter approaches I thought I would share some
previous projects and this one was a real favourite,
I still receive requests for the template.
It's an Easter Birdhouse.

And this is the template, you can download and print it here.

If you can, print directly onto your coloured cardstock -
this saves time sticking a printed copy sheet onto cardstock and cutting around.
You do also need to print one onto normal copy paper (I will explain why later).

You then decide if you would like your birdhouse to have a straight edge sides
or a curved bottom (!) this will dictate where you score. Cut out the template.
You need to cut the circle, I've used Standard Circles Small.

There is not a template for the roof, but it is very simple - cut a piece of card
measuring 6" x 3¾", I chose to use kraft card.
I wanted a pretty roof edge and used the scallop edge from Classic Edges One.

 Fold the roof in half.

From the additional print of the template on copy paper just cut out the
front section of the birdhouse.  You can then achieve the weatherboard look by cutting
strips of card and adhering across.

You may want to ink the edges slightly - I chose white.
Keep adding layers until you've covered the front.

This is how the reverse looks.  Once dry trim around and die cut the circle.
You will overlaying and attaching this to the front of the house.

Returning to your template, score dotted fold lines and assemble.

You can then pop the roof on and attach some decoration. I chose Sprigs and little flowers.

Fill with mini eggs or something equally delicious!
You could make a small hole in the roof, attach ribbon through
and have a hanging birdhouse.

Back soon, take care friends.

Easter Greetings

Hello friends

A chocolate offering today - I think they are always the best!
I've created a wrapper for a bar of chocolate
and all the details are over on the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L
blog here - step by step images too (you get to see what chocolate bar it is!)

Feel free to hop over to the Scrapbook Adhesives blog here.

For those who follow me on Facebook you will know I'm
taking a little time out as been a tad poorly.
I'm on the mend and I want to say a huge thank you to everyone for their
kind thoughts and wishes, no-one likes being unwell but
it definitely perks you up with so many nice messages.

Take care friends and wishing you all a lovely Sunday.

Friday Die Day

Hello friends

This week's Friday Die Day is featuring Quatrefoil Panel.
A decorative panel die consisting of rectangular die and decorative insert.

This is how it looks cut/embossed.

I sat looking at the die cut for a while and realised it reminded me of
a mosaic design, I selected some coloured card that felt meditterranean.

Just using the inset die I cut/embossed with all three colours, being careful
to keep all those fall out pieces...the desk was a little messy at this point!

I adhered the white die cut to a white card front.

And then the reinserting of the fall out pieces began!
I have to say it was quicker than I thought and I found it therapeutic.
Yellow for the middle.

And then a combination of the dark and light blue for the remaining pieces.

All the pieces in their place!

The finished card, I chose to keep it very simple making the panel the
main feature.
(The difference in taking photos inside and outside the cabin -
lighting is everything!)

Some close up pics.

Quatrefoil Panel is an Amazing Paper Grace die
available to pre-order from retailers and arriving very soon.

Have a lovely weekend everyone, not long till Easter!

A Rehash of Heart and Flutter

Hello friends

Today a card that is a rehash!
I created a similar card to this one some time back and enjoyed making it
so thought I would recreate it using different colours.

The die set used is Heart and Flutter - a die D-Lite.
I start by sticking a panel of patterned paper to the front left hand side
of my card.  Open out the card, position the heart centrally
and die cut the aperture.

The Heart and the Flutter is cut from red cardstock,
insert the heart through the front aperture to affix -
ensures exact alignment.

Tied twine around with a stamped tag.
And don't forget the all important butterfly!

Here it is in a different colour....

It's interesting to visit previous projects and rehash them.

Take care friends, back very soon.

The International Ambassadors are blog hopping

Hello friends

Some of the Spellbinders International Ambassadors are having an
informal blog hop and this time we have chosen as our theme
the new Stacey Caron Deco Art collection dies.

I was instantly drawn to the Astoria design, it's clean lines and I've used a
combination of Astoria Labels and Astoria Decorative Elements
for my predominantly white card.

To achieve the silver shadow I die cut a piece of glitter card
using Astoria Decorative Element die #2.
Sliced this in half horizontally, inserted it behind my white die cut,
slightly offset to create a shadow top and bottom.

I stamped the smallest die cut with 'Forever Grateful', inserted silver
ribbon and added some silk flowers.

I think it's pretty much 'all-white'!

For more art deco inspirational projects please hop along to my fellow
Ambassadors' blogs -  have fun!

Christine Emberson (You are here)

Thanks so much for stopping by.
We will be back with more!

Simply....Best Wishes

Hello friends

Today sharing a card that I made recently for the
It is simple and speedy!

I double matted the white card using 5 x 7 Matting Basics,
Foliage die is the central aperture and those little flowers are....
yes you've guessed it - Marisa's Bouquet.

There's a full tutorial on the Scrapbook Adhesives blog here so feel
free to pop over there and if you would like to...leave a comment :)

My posts have been a bit brief recently (aside from 'My Boy' one),
that's speed typing them either very late at night or very early in the morning!
As usual I seem to be wading through lots of 'to do' lists although I did
sit down finally and watch Dickensian - yes that was on at Christmas!
Absolutely loved it - did any of you catch it at all?

Take care friends,
