Are you the Winner??

Hello friends

Today announcing the winner of the 6 x 6 Matting Basics B set.

And the winner is.....

ELAINE M

Congratulations Elaine - please email your address details to
creativity-continues@outlook.com
and the die set will be sent straight out to you.

I decided I would look out other projects where I have used
6 x 6 Matting Basics and discovered these...

White on white...a big favourite of mine.

The smaller squares in the set are great for little cards.

Matting multiple colours.

And they complement ornate dies beautifully.

I find the matting dies invaluable because I do honestly
suffer from 'trimmer trauma'!

Take care friends, back again very soon.

The International Ambassadors are blog hopping!

Hello friends

Some of the Spellbinders International Ambassadors are having an
informal blog hop and this time we have chosen as our theme....
flowers and butterflies - what's not to love!

We have been having so much fun with these blog hops and delighted at
how many of you visit, play along and leave such lovely comments.

I've chosen to make a card, matted bright pink card onto a white
base and then added Pierced Rectangles.

I have chosen one of my absolute favourite Spellbinders die sets -
Marisa's Bouquet as it contains both the flowers and the butterflies.
I die cut an assortment of colours.

And then lightly inked the edges.

My card is stamped with Lawn Fawn Scripty Sayings and
the flowers and leaves clustered together.

The butterflies are fluttering away!

For more flower and butterfly inspirational projects please hop along to my fellow
Ambassadors' blogs -  have fun!

Thanks so much for stopping by.
We will be back with more!

Valentine's Day - Glitter Hearts!

Hello friends
Happy Valentine's Day!
Today I thought I would revisit a tutorial I did using Spellbinders dies
and Scrapbook Adhesives 3D Foam Creative Sheets...
and a fair amount of glitter!
Select a die, a card creator die is best for this technique  –
I used Botanical Swirls.
CEmberson - Glitter 2
Remove the backing sheet from a 3D Foam Creative Sheet (keep to one side)
and stick onto a piece of white card.
CEmberson - Glitter 3
On the other side, position your die template and
run through your die cutting machine to cut – no need to emboss.
CEmberson - Glitter 4
This is how it will look.
CEmberson - Glitter 5
Begin to remove certain sections of the layer sheet.
CEmberson - Glitter 6
I chose to reveal the leaves and swirls, leaving the background in place.
CEmberson - Glitter 7
Cover with glitter and then tap off the excess.
CEmberson - Glitter 8
Using the backing sheet you put to one side,
lay over the glittered surface and burnish lightly with a bone folder.
CEmberson - Glitter 9
You can then remove the remainder of the top layer and cover with a different colour glitter.
CEmberson - Glitter 11
Again tap off the excess, burnish and your sheet is completely decorated.
CEmberson - Glitter 12
I then chose to die cut with Spellbinders Classic Hearts.
CEmberson - Glitter 13
My finished card.
CEmberson - Glitter 1
CEmberson - Glitter 15
This would work with many die designs and glitter colours.
CEmberson - Glitter 16
Enjoy your Valentine's day.
Take care friends.

Friday Die Day

Hello friends

This week's Friday Die Day is featuring a new set of dies
Fairmont Decorative Elements.
This one of the dies from the Spellbinders Art Deco collection
designed by Stacey Caron.

There are three dies in the set that can be used separately
or nest beautifully together.

This is how they look cut/embossed.
Beautiful border.

I've created a white card base, matted black card and then patterned paper -
Kaisercraft Black and White Timeless.

I chose to cut/emboss die #2 from gold card, use #1 in black.
The 'thank you' is stamped onto Fairmont Label - this
is another new set of dies that ties in perfectly with
Fairmont Decorative Elements.
Also using a little flower and leaves.

Affixing the gold die cut in place.

The finished card, I finally got a photograph that shows the gold!

Some close up photos.

Fairmont Decorative Elements and Fairmont Labels -
thinking they could be quite a favourite on my craft desk.

Take care friends and wishing you all a great weekend.

Mid-Week Giveaway!

Hello friends

How do you brighten up a Wednesday?
I think with a giveaway!

I'm often asked what dies I use the most.
Well...if you put aside all the flowers and Sprigs it has to be my
Matting Basics.  I especially like the 6 x 6 sets.
They enable me to create perfect layering with that crisp border.
Here are just a few cards where the Matting Basics have been invaluable.

Today I'm giving away a brand new set of 6 x 6 Matting Basics B.

As usual, really simple, just leave a comment on today's blog post
and a winner will be picked out next week.
Don't forget to stop back to check if you are the winner.

Charity Kit news...just a couple left so if you haven't purchased
grab one quick.  Thank you so much everyone.

Take care friends.

Shoot!

Hello friends

I hope you are all having a good week.
It's been a bit blustery here in the South East!

Today revisiting a heart card, this one features Classic Hearts
and a Die D-Lite set called Shoot.
Create your card base and stamp the whole area with a script stamp.

Cut/emboss three Classic Hearts #3 from red cardstock.
Arrange vertically and affix with 3D Foam Squares.

Cut/emboss three Shoot arrows from brown cardstock and arrange at jaunty angles!

And that's it, speedy!  Ideal if you have a few Valentine's to make!!

Take care friends.
