Friday Die Day

Hello friends

This week's FDD is featuring one of the new Art Nouveau dies
designed by Stacey Caron.
It is Water Lilies Decorative Element.

There are four dies in the set and the approximate measurements are:

1: 2.00 x 3.20 in
2: 3.05 x 4.10 in
3: 4.40 x 5.70 in
Accent 1.00 x 1.65 in

This is what they look like cut/embossed,
The frames are such a good size for card projects and I love the
pierced edging.

With the largest die cut I inserted ribbon through and under the water lilies
and secured at the back.

Created a white card base with a black mat, 5 x 7 Matting Basics.
Using the smallest die cut, stamped 'Hello' and added a tiny flower and leaves.

Affixed this in place with foam tape and done!
The die cuts do all the work.

The Art Nouveau range is stunning and available to purchase from your
Spellbinders retailer now.

Have a great weekend - I will be in Bury St Edmunds tomorrow -
Keep on Crafting.  Class is fully booked but demo in the afternoon
so please stop by for a natter.

Take care friends.

Autumnal Owls

Hello friends

I've been looking at some of my previous Autumnal projects and
discovered this card I made...
The die is It's A Hoot and consists of  two pieces - frame and inset,
also 10 cute owls.

I matted dotty paper (cut with the frame die)
onto brown cardstock.
Then I cut both the frame and inset from white cardstock.
I typed out a sentiment French Script and printed it onto matching
white cardstock -  - 'Owl always love you!' -
(I know...took me a while to think of that one!)
I die cut that to a tag shape with Back to Basics Tags.
Tied with twine and then layered onto the card front with foam pads.
I'm a fan of owls and these look very cute.

Hope your week is going well.

Take care friends - I'm back soon.

So blue...

Hello friends

Today a card featuring both Framed Labels 46 and Labels 46 Decorative Accent.
I've used two die cuts on the outer circle edge, overlayed them to create
more scrolly bits!  That's my new technical crafting term!

The papers are Anna Griffin - adore her designs.
My sentiment has been typed and printed onto vellum, affixed so that it bows
out a little and little flowers to hide the adhesive.

The decorating has been slightly postponed as still clearing out Elliott's room,
wow that boy has some stuff!
I've also had some craft deadlines so that always comes first.

Enjoy your Sunday, delighted we still have some sunshine but not
quite liking the darker evenings and mornings.

Take care friends.

Friday Die Day

Hello friends

This week's Friday Die Day is Pointed Mini Envelope designed by
Tammy Tutterow for Spellbinders.
I adore these envelope dies!

The approximate measurements are:
Envelope: 3.00 x 6.50 in
Insert: 1.75 x 2.25 in

This is what it looks like cut/embossed.

I chose to use cream card stock, as soon as you emboss you can see the fold
lines - so simple.

Also nice that you have the insert die, the perfect size.  I used a script stamp for
decoration but you of course could write your own note.

My card base and Anna Griffin - Lovely Layers paper die cut with
Pierced Rectangles.

I've stamped across the envelope and attached a little flower and leaves.

Placed this centrally on my card front.

Some further images.

Pointed Mini Envelope is available to purchase from your Spellbinders retailer now.

So...what are we all up to this weekend?
I'm not travelling so decided (somewhat madly) to decorate Elliott's bedroom!
We started to empty it out earlier in the week...we are still emptying it out -
that boy hordes some stuff and I thought it was only crafters that did that!

Take care friends - have a good one whatever you are doing.

Florence Medallion with a Twist!

Hello friends

Today I'm returning to Florence Medallion, the die I featured on
Monday but using it a little differently.
I cut and scored the largest die cut and realised it fits perfectly
over the top of a Square Petal Top Box.

I threaded ribbon through to secure it in place.

Again a white on white project with just distress inks added to the leaves and flowers.

Yesterday was a gardening day, I have a blackberry bush (I thought
I had completely eradicated last year) but it has regrown in abundance.
It has now been heavily pruned...it was a battle!

Today back in the cabin crafting as lots more things coming your way soon.

Take care friends.

Back Home and Florence Medallion

Hello friends

I'm back home from TV land feeling much more refreshed after a nice lay-in
this morning.  Had a lot of fun doing the shows and yes it was Spellbinders stamps -
a whole learning curve for me!
They really are clever and you can achieve so much with just one stamp.
If you were able to tune in thank you so much.

Back to today and dies...this is Florence Medallion.
I've used it with one of my favourite card styles - white on white
and just a little bit of pale colour for the flowers - Marisa's Bouquet.

I think when you find a favourite card style it is hard not to keep doing it over and over!

Florence Medallion is available from your Spellbinders retailer now,
designed by Stacey Caron and also look out for the Art Nouveau Collection -
beautiful beautiful designs!

Take care friends - I'm unpacking, tackling the washing and then
going out for lunch...craft later!

Friday Die Day

Hello friends

This week's Friday Die Day is featuring Window Mini Pocket.
A very cute die set designed by Tammy Tutterow for Spellbinders.

The approximate measurements are:

Pocket: 3.00 x 6.50 in
Insert: 1.75 x 2.25 in

This is how it looks cut/embossed.

Once embossed you have your fold lines to create the window envelope.
Fold and affix.

I thought I would create a travel theme card.
The paper is My Mind's Eye - Hello World matted onto a kraft base.
5 x 7 Matting Basics used for this - I LOVE my matting dies!

I cut a smaller piece of the patterned paper to place in the window section of
the envelope, tied twine with a metal charm - job done!

A couple of close up photos.
Not sure for how much longer I can use the garden wall outside my cabin
for photos - weather getting a bit damp now!

Wishing you a great weekend - In case I haven't mentioned...I'm on the telly!
I've got shows on Create and Craft Saturday and Sunday featuring...
Spellbinders stamps!  Something new and exciting.
If you catch the shows I'd love you to email in please - it's always so nice
to hear familiar names when I'm in the studio.

Take care friends.

The International Ambassadors are Blog Hopping

Hello friends

Some of the Spellbinders International Ambassadors are having an

informal blog hop and this time we have chosen
Autumn/Fall as a theme.

Autumn conjures up oranges, greens and browns - admittedly my
project is a little brighter... perhaps I'm not quite ready to give up on Summer!

I have used dies from the Woodland Collection -
a combination of Stylized Flower and Leaves.

Using a shop purchased kraft gift bag, I matted brown card, kraft card
and natural woven ribbon to the front.
I then layered over Leaves - lightly inked.
With Stylized Flower I inked through the die as well as doing a little
bit of colouring with the berries and flower.

A stamped 'thank you' hand cut banner added.

For more  inspirational projects please hop along to my fellow
Ambassadors' blogs -  have fun!

Christine Emberson (You are here)

Thanks so much for stopping by.
We will be back with more!

"Come with me and you'll be in a world of imagination"

Hello friends

Quick post to share some photos of yesterday's fantastic afternoon tea.
It was such a treat to spend time with my writer friend Carole Matthews,
her partner Kevin and Elliott came along too.

This all happened at One Aldwych, London - very swanky!

It was a themed Charlie and the Chocolate Factory tea so lots of fun.

And the tea...candy floss, golden eggs.

Milkshakes...

Serious sandwiches and stuff!

Cake pops too.

So nicely presented and perfect with a glass of champagne!

Thank you for your comments yesterday and Marg...
yes now you've said it Labels 46 really does look like an open umbrella!

Take care friends...please stop by tomorrow.
