A Lovely Assortment!

Hello friends

Reporting back after a great day at The Artistic Stamper yesterday,
the rain held off so I got my burger from the barbecue - important stuff you know!

Here I am...oh look, it looks very much like I'm chatting!
I took along kits for a Make and Take,
a sticky note holder featuring Victorian Picket, Romantic Vines, Marisa's Bouquet
and Sentiments 5.
Over 30 were made in total and between my nattering I took some photos...
six of them - I can definitely natter!

I love seeing how everyone creates their kits differently,
take a closer look at this one...
Gemma Hynes - a fellow demonstrator decided to alter the die cuts,
I love what she has done with various inks/paint.

All dies mentioned are available from Elliott  - go on, keep him busy! :)

Today I'm back in my cabin as I've got quite a lot of projects to prep for TV...
resisting this button...
Take care friends - wishing you all sunshine.

Needs must!

Hello friends

First off...did you rummage?
Have you found your number included in your August Charity kit...
if so...is it number 21??
Coincidentally my age! ;)

If you have the lucky number 21 please email me at
creativity-continues@outlook.com

A goody bag of dies, stamps, adhesive and more will be rushed out to you.

Good news - Mum is home from hospital, still a bit wobbly, needs to rest
but it's lovely that she is home.
So - due to her resting I've had to resort to this...

He is pretty nifty at die cutting to be honest.
I did suggest that he make a few projects but I got 'the face'!

By the way...did you notice the blog ranking?
We are neck and neck now!

Hoping to see some of you at The Artistic Stamper today for the
Spellbinders Make and Take.
If not, I'll be back here chattering again very soon and with projects...
goodness it's about time!

Take care friends.

I missed it!

Hello friends

So I missed it...National Dog Day was on 26 August.
I'm so sorry Bella!
Really every day is National Dog Day for Bella,
she's rather spoiled ...

To be honest everything is a little bit of a blur at the moment,
I'm so busy with getting ready for shows and then my die cutting co-pilot
(aka Mum) was taken into hospital, she's had an op and hopefully coming home soon.
She's very frustrated being in hospital, if you've met my mum you'll know she's
always on the go and organises me wonderfully!

So apologies - no Friday Die Day this week but very soon I will have
lots of projects to share with you - I've been speed crafting!

Thank you for all the wonderful comments on my telly news.
Yes things are definitely hotting up with the new channels!
I would love Elliott to join me on air but he's got a lot of work to do
of his own now...  I do like him to come along though when he can.

I will be announcing the winner of the August Charity Kit very soon -
rummage and have your tickets at the ready.

Take care friends and wishing you all a wonderful weekend.

News!

Hello friends

If you didn't see it on Facebook already I do have some special news.
I'm returning to TV, I've been asked to do some shows on The Craft Channel
which is launching 14 September.
It's all come about rather quickly and I've been super busy getting shows organised.
I got to spend a day at the studios in London this week,
it is wonderful to see it all coming to life.
These are faces you may find familiar - Debbie Greenwood and Julian Ballantyne -
they are so much fun and in this photo they look like they're not letting me go!
Someone else came along to the studios...
And he was quickly set to work!
It was all hands on deck to get organised.

So, the details:

The Craft Channel is launching at 8am on 14 September - their website is here.
You can watch on Sky 261, Freesat 402 and online.
Freeview is coming soon.
Also hoping for Virgin Media - if you subscribe to Virgin please message them..
they need to know how important it is that we should view it there too :)

Exciting and busy times ahead, I will keep you posted on more news.
For those who have commented on Facebook sending such kind words and wishes -
- thank you so much - you're all lovely!

It's grown!

Hello friends

Today it's about my garden chair!
I know that's not craft related but I wanted to share its growing progress
with you.

It started out like this...
It began to grow and climb...
and now look at it!
No flowers as yet but delighted with its growing effort so far.
The recent rain has definitely helped.

I'm inordinately happy about this chair, it was destined to go the tip
many years ago.  It brings a smile to my face when I see it being up-cycled.

I saw in a magazine recently that Clematis grows beautifully in hanging baskets too -
so that's on my list now.  Perhaps my fingers are beginning to have just a tint of green-ness.

Take care friends - real craft resuming soon!

Free Make and Take!

Hello friends

Want to make one of these?
It's a sticky note cover featuring some summery dies...not Christmas!

You can...if you live Faversham way and you're about next Saturday, 29 August.
This is the free Make and Take at The Artistic Stamper's Birthday Bash.
The details are here and fingers crossed for fine weather because if so...it's a BBQ!
I'm going to be there all day demoing and chatting...lots!
The dies I've used for my sticky note cover are Victorian Picket, Romantic Vines
Now I appreciate many of you live the other side of the country so I've asked
Elliott to make up for this and I understand he's got that detailed on his blog today.

Are we all keeping cool in this heatwave?
Bella hasn't quite understood that laying on top of the duvet might be an idea as
opposed to snuggling up under it!

Take care friends - enjoy your Sunday.

Friday Die Day

Hello friends

Friday Die Day... (Elliott doesn't have one of those - ha ha!)
This week I'm featuring Victorian Fan.
I haven't played with this die very much but now that I have...
I'm rather liking it!

It's a one piece die, with a lot of embossing and
the approximate measurement is:  4½ x 2⅜”

This is how it looks cut/embossed in white card.
I created a card base using 5 x 7 Matting Basics and matted dotted gold patterned
paper - My Mind's Eye, On Trend.
I then die cut Victorian Fan again from gold mirror card.

The other elements of my card - Romantic Vines,
Sentiments 3, Victorian Picket and a small flower and leaf (old set - Homespun).

I positioned the fan vertically at a slight angle and overlaid the other die cuts,
a clustered look but with it all being white it sort of works!
This photo shows it a little more clearer and looks more gold -
photographing mirror card is not easy!
Take care friends,
wishing you a wonderful weekend - what are you up to?

A snowflake...or is it?

Hello friends

It's not Chrismassy at all today..or is it?
The die I've featured on my card is actually... Create A Flake Six!

I loved the pretty design and thought hold on a minute...
this would be a nice little medallion shaped flower.

Using 6 x 6 Matting Basics A and B for my card matting,
then each flower matted onto Classic Squares Large #2.
I found a little flower from Marisa's Bouquet on my craft desk along
with a leaf from Romantic Blooms One.

The sentiment is stamped and I hand cut the banner.
Someone else was clearly confused as to whether it was a flower or a snowflake!

I hear Hope and Chances blog is having a giveaway...
might be worth a nose!

Take care friends and pop back tomorrow for Friday Die Day.

It's Not Christmas!

Hello friends

Giving you a little break from Christmas today and revisiting some dies
that I really like - the Card Creator dies.
This is Glass Effects, I've chosen to die cut it in white and place
on a white card base.  I then ran it through again with some gingham
patterned paper and reinserted some pieces.
Added Blooms One and a little bit of Sprigs.
These are what I call my 'comfort cards' - I enjoy working on the background
and adding a simple flower and foliage.

So how is that boy of mine doing?
I see 'his blog' is more popular than mine in the ranking right now! ;)
I suspect a little competition may arise between us...
Between you and me, he's been an absolute star, embracing his new role,
coming up with ideas and it's definitely given me more time to create.

I understand he's just uploaded some new pre-order dies -
the alphabets, numbers and sentiments one are bound to be a big hit.

Other stuff...for those of you who did not catch this on Facebook...
Bella v. Pigeon
That pigeon knows it's safe there and appears to enjoy tormenting Bella!

So I think I've got all my blog organised now, but please shout if there's
anything missing.  There's Bloglovin' button, follow me by email,
add me to your Google circle and more!
No escape from me then... :)
Big thanks to all of you who have followed me,
re-routed etc - really appreciate it.

Take care friends and I hope your week is going well.

Under the Mistletoe!

Hello friends

I'm still on a Christmas roll!
I'm demoing a lot of the Christmas range on my Spellbinders tour
so I'm putting together samples right now,
the good news is I get to share those with you!

This is Mistletoe Card Front die, a two piece die set -
the outer rectangular frame and the mistletoe inset.
How about this for an easy, effective card?
The stamp (a wooden one, I will look out the details...)
was applied to a matching white piece of card, inserted under the mistletoe
berries and secured behind the outer frame.
Any small spotty paper seems to work well as a background to these
card creator dies.
It's a flat card - great for posting.
Mistletoe Card Front is available here.

Take care friends, so pleased to see the sunshine back -
no more heavy rain until at least November please!

The International Ambassadors are blog hopping!

Hello friends

Christmas in August!

The Spellbinders International Ambassadors are having an informal blog hop again
and this time we have chosen the theme of 'Christmas in August'!
We have been having so much fun with these blog hops and delighted at how many
of you visit, play along and leave such lovely comments.
I hope you are getting to know us and seeing our different styles,
each one of us is unique in our creative styles - so there is something for everyone!
For my Christmas in August I've chosen a card and matching gift box.

I've used the rather lovely Mistletoe Card Front.
Here it is cut/embossed in green cardstock.
For my card base I selected kraft card and My Mind's Eye
Vintage Christmas papers.
Cut/embossed with 6 x 6 Matting Basics A and B.
I then cut/embossed Layered Poinsettia and spritzed the petal layers with
Glimmer Mist and ...
whilst still damp sprinkled some glitter.
I was then on a roll with Glimmer Mists so decided to spritz the Mistletoe Card Front too!
Took my scissors in hand and trimmed away sections of the frame and inner parts.

I adhered my selected parts to the card front and gift box.
You can see from this close up photo I used double die cuts to create a little more dimension.
Happy Christmas everyone!

For more inspiration of projects - 'Christmas in August'
here is the list of blogs to visit, have fun!
