Friday Die Day

Hello friends

Friday Die Day... (Elliott doesn't have one of those - ha ha!)
This week I'm featuring Victorian Fan.
I haven't played with this die very much but now that I have...
I'm rather liking it!

It's a one piece die, with a lot of embossing and
the approximate measurement is:  4½ x 2⅜”

This is how it looks cut/embossed in white card.
I created a card base using 5 x 7 Matting Basics and matted dotted gold patterned
paper - My Mind's Eye, On Trend.
I then die cut Victorian Fan again from gold mirror card.

The other elements of my card - Romantic Vines,
Sentiments 3, Victorian Picket and a small flower and leaf (old set - Homespun).

I positioned the fan vertically at a slight angle and overlaid the other die cuts,
a clustered look but with it all being white it sort of works!
This photo shows it a little more clearer and looks more gold -
photographing mirror card is not easy!
Take care friends,
wishing you a wonderful weekend - what are you up to?

  1. Good morning Christine yes it is cluttered but in a good way everything blends together so nicely. Hope to get some of next year's workshop programme on paper over the weekend much as I don't like wishing my life away! Best wishes Jackie x

  2. What a lovely card! If you'd used lots of different colours (as I expect I would have done) it WOULD have looked cluttered, but keeping it to white and gold makes it gorgeously elegant

  6. Hi Christine
Lovely die , i agree with Hazel the die cut is not what i thought looking at the die, on a closer look if you cut the inner ring of flowers twice and joined them together it would make a gorgeous large flower with the cute little steams in the center , then of course those hearts cut individually are always useful .
No Elliott has no FDD but i just bet he will come up with something else , ?
I am making more Christmas cards this weekend , that is if i don't have visitors , my son and partner are back off their Holiday so i expect to see lots of Photo's .

  8. Good morning Christine
Beautiful card and a very pretty die. I love to use mirriboard but it is a nightmare to photograph.
I have a very busy day planned today, not much crafting tho.
    Enjoy your day

  10. Hi Christine
Another lovely card today. Not my kind of die though. Haven't looked on your blog for a couple of days. But I love to last two cards you've done as well.

  12. I really love your Friday Die Day posts - some, when just seen as a promotional photo, look very boring so seeing them used as you do makes them come alive and shows the potential. Thanks.

  13. Morning Christine, This is a gorgeous die, you are right the second piccie shows the gold more, I kept going back to check that you had cut it in gold mirri, because it didn't look like gold haha.
Lots of love from Patricia xx

  15. Hi Christine,
What a pretty die. Looking at the die you wouldn't think the cut would turn out like it is :). I'm always amazed at the finished article and sometimes think if I'd not seen the cut out I would never buy the die lol. x
