Friday Die Day

Hello friends

This week I've chosen Spellbinders Labels 52 for Friday Die Day.

This is a five piece die set and the approximate measurements are:

1: 1.10 x 1.75 in
2: 1.70 x 2.60 in
3: 2.30 x 3.70 in
4: 3.00 x 4.80 in
5: 3.80 x 6.00 in

This is how they look cut/embossed.

I took the largest die cut #5 and made two score lines horizontally.

Just above the top score line I secured a small bar of chocolate.
(You will also see I've punched little holes top and bottom point,
I'll mention those in a bit).

I then selected two more die cut Labels 52, a stamped sentiment and flower/leaf set.
Layered these to great an embellishment.

The finished little gift/favour pouch.
Where I punched those holes earlier you could thread through twine or ribbon.
I discovered this white mini peg on my desk and opted for that!

Instantly I'm thinking these would work for weddings.
Or...Christmas!

Labels 52 is available both new and pre-loved on the website,
details are here.

Wishing you a lovely weekend, I'm hoping for a little bit of sun
to do a spot of gardening.

Take care friends.

Wonderful Mum and Happy News

Hello friends

I'm still focusing on Mother's Day a few days on!
Revisiting a couple of projects that use the Wonderful Mum die.
For my gift box I used the fallout pieces - the word 'lovely' and 'Mum'.
The card took a little longer as I used the main die cut and then
reinserted lots of different fallout pieces - it was therapeutic!

Sprigs and Blooms One to decorate.

There's also an Awesome Dad die that works the same,
never quite sure of the word 'Awesome'...perhaps I'm getting old!

In other news thrilled to announce that Elliott has been offered a definite
place at Greenwich University.  It is exactly the course he wants - Digital Media
and where he wants to be - good job too as it will be for three years!

When we stopped excitably jumping up and down,
I then said 'oh, who is going to run the website?!'
So some changes afoot, I'll be returning to run most of the show
although I may still have to enlist Elliott's help from time to time -
he is such a whizz with all the techy stuff.
I'm considering returning to my old blog Hope and Chances
to keep everything under the same name, lots of thoughts right now
but very happy ones.

Take care friends and please stop by tomorrow for Friday Die Day.

Spring Flowers and London Town

Hello friends

What beautiful weather for the last couple of days,
I think we are jumping into Summer and bypassing Spring!
But keeping with Spring sharing a card from last year featuring
a real favourite - Marisa's Bouquet.

Also Scripty Sayings stamp - still love these.

Background is Pierced Rectangles.

A really fun day yesterday visiting the #Paperhearts publishers.
Hosted a craft session for about 20+ people and showed them how a die cutting
machine works, there were lots of ooos and ahhhs!

Carole and myself were presented with gorgeous flowers,
a winning day all round.

And yes that's champagne ...before midday, well it would have been rude not to!
Back in the cabin today, there's only so much excitement a crafter can handle.

Take care friends.

Cracking Ideas and Winner!

Hello friends

Following my wardrobe clear out admission it appears I'm not alone when it
comes to accumulating unworn clothes :)
Hazel - your ideas are great and I'm going to adopt them please.
Hazel has the system that she turns the coat hanger around and if
she hasn't worn that item in a year it goes to the charity shop.
Also 'one in one out' so for every new purchase an old item has to go.
Genius!
Now would this also apply to craft stash???

Today announcing the winner of this month's charity kit.
Thanks again to all those who have purchased. If you did miss out there is
just a couple left - please follow the link here.

So...time to delve into those bags please and if you have number 591
please email me at creativity-continues@outlook.com
A goodie bag is waiting to go out to you.

Heads up - April's charity kit is ready to go and will be posted on Sunday.
I've gone along a hearts theme to complement #Paperhearts...
all will be revealed!

Today I'm venturing out of my cabin and up to London to visit
Little Brown Publishers.
I'm hosting a craft session for their staff!
We are going to be making the #Paperhearts card,
apparently they are not crafters but I'm hoping to convert a few :)

The #Paperhearts card kit is also still available here
lots of kit mentions today!

Right - I had better get sorted, take care friends hope your week is going well.

Lots of pins!

Hello friends

I hope all Mums had an enjoyable day yesterday.
I had the rash idea of starting a spring clean by  having a wardrobe clear out,
quite a few hours later all I had achieved was rather a messy bedroom floor.
Sorted now and I have finally come to terms with the fact that
if I haven't worn something for 5 years+ I'm unlikely to start wearing it now!

Pleased to say the day was rounded off with a takeaway so not
all spring cleaning.

So...yes Mother's Day - sharing a card with you today
I made quite a while ago. It has proved very popular on Pinterest.
In fact it has been pinned over a 1,000 times!

It features Anemone Flower Topper and Classic Triple
Scallop Edgeabilities. Embossing folder used for the background
is Garden Delight.
Teal and white also make a lovely combo.

A very rare time I actually placed a bow on a card!

Today back in my cabin, I've got quite a list of projects to make
so DVD on and Platinum 6 at the ready :)

Take care friends.

Mum's Day Card

Hello friends

(Mum...if you are reading this look away, this is your card
that I'll be handing to you later!)
Yes it is Mother's Day and I've made an ivory card
with subtle pastel flowers for my very special Mum.

6 x 6 Matting Basics for the base background.
A combination of dies including Labels 56,
Victorian Collection (Create and Craft) and the flowers

I typed the sentiment and die cut using A2 Matting Basics.

I embossed the envelope flap with Hearts embossing folder.
This is the folder used for the background of the #Paperhearts card too.

I'm hoping Mum likes it, it will make a change for her to see die cuts....! ;)

Special wishes to all you Mums, I hope you all have a wonderful day.

An amazing time...

Hello friends

Warning! Today's post is a little photo heavy,
well it wouldn't be a little holiday without sharing the photos once home ;)
Disneyland Paris was a joint treat for Elliott and myself as we
both have special birthdays this year, one of us is going to be 21 and the
other just a little older!
We had an amazing time.

Just some of my favourite photos.

We had lunch in Chez Remy - famous from the film Ratatouille, it was amazing.

Oh yes this character popped up a lot!

And... one other family member also came along - Stanley!
As you can see he enjoyed himself ;)

Look out for Stanley, now he has had a little holiday he needs to start work...

Take care friends, normal crafty stuff will resume :)

Friday Die Day

Hello friends

Back home from a lovely time away, I'll be sharing a
few photos over the weekend but back to routine and
as it's Friday that means Friday Die Day.
I'm revisiting a favourite die set - Diagonal Chevron,
This is one of the Spellbinders Card Creator dies, using these dies mean you
are half way to creating a card with minimum time.
The set consists of two die templates, the outer border and inner decorative die.

Approximate measurements:

Inset: 3¾ x 5”
Border: 4¼ x 5”

This is how it looks cut/embossed.

To create my card I wanted to also use the bottom section of the inset die to cut/emboss
patterned chevrons (the fallout pieces).

Adhered my white card front to some spotty kraft card.

I then started to apply the chevron pieces,
raising some of them with 3D Foam Squares cut in half.

I matted the card front onto pale green patterned paper and white cardstock.

Then the extra die cuts to decorate Sprigs and Blooms One.
'Get Well' is Sentiments 4.
The finished card.

Take care friends, wishing you all a lovely weekend.

Little Birdies and what do you think?

Hello friends

Today's project is a card for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L
It uses Adhesive Sheets and 3D Foam Squares along with
Spellbinders dies - Out on a Limb and Springtime.

The full tutorial is over on the Scrapbook Adhesives blog, please click here
if you would like to take a nose.  There's also a video on how to use their

Yesterday's tag was well received, thank you for the comments both
here and on Facebook.  I really enjoyed making it.

Now what do you think about this tag for a future charity kit?
Let me know what you think.

Scheduling this post today as heading off early.
Have to admit I'm really excited, be nice to escape for a few
days and enter the world of make believe :)

Take care friends.
