Frankfurt!

Hello friends

Blogging from Germany!
If you follow me on Facebook you will have already seen some photos.
We (Elliott came along too) arrived yesterday and took in a few of the
sights....

This is a rather large twisty and winding shopping centre!

The outside of the shopping centre - I bet that took some designing!

It didn't take us long to discover our favourite things...

We made sure we phoned home to talk to Bella!

And then this morning arrived at Creative Word to demo...
this will be my home for the next few days, more photos to follow.

Take care friends and hope you are having a good weekend.

Friday Die Day

Hello friends

I promise you it is Thursday!
With going away I must have got confused with dates so here's Friday Die Day...
a little earlier than normal!!

This week's Friday Die Day is featuring Labels Forty Eight Decorative Accents.

The approximate measurements are:
1: 1⅝ x 1⅛” 2: 2⅜ x 2¼” 3: 3⅞ x 3⅝”

This is how it looks cut/embossed.

I've chosen to make a card, cut the largest die from foil card - it embosses
beautifully.  I also used Labels Forty Eight to cut a matching smaller shape.
The patterned paper is My Mind's Eye - Indie Chic.

My card base and matting is created with 6 x 6 Matting Basics.
Stamped thank you in the bottom corner.

Attached Labels Forty Eight Decorative Accents.

Simply added a butterfly charm to the middle to finish.

Some close up pics.

Such a pretty die set.

Take care friends - wishing you all a great weekend.

Thank You and Flowery!

Hello friends

Today's card was me actually crafting...I know that sounds a little
strange but it wasn't designed for a specific project,
I just fancied making something and went through some
boxes of dies and papers.

I started with a white card base, affixed some gingham paper -
My Mind's Eye - Howdy Doody, spritzed it a little with glimmer mist.

My feature die is Decorative Labels Thirty Four,
to be honest I forgot I had this die and didn't realise how lovely it was!

Stamped 'thank you' onto the middle size die cut - matching pattern paper.

Affixed some twine, fern leaves from the Foliage die set
and little flowers - again spritzed with glimmer mist...
I do get a bit carried away with a bottle in hand!

For the rest of this week my nose is definitely to the grindstone, I'm flying
out to Frankfurt on Friday to demo at Creative World for a few days.
Packing lots of samples, demo items and a make and take kit.
I will be sure to share more with you on my return but keep popping back
to the blog as I will be scheduling posts.

Take care friends.

Sunday Giveaway!

Hello friends

It's time to make a Sunday a little bit nicer with a giveaway!
This time it is Stack and Fan Flowers.

This Spellbinders die is from the Amazing Paper Grace collection
designed by Becca Feeken - look out for her new die collection
arriving soon with a wedding theme.

I recently featured this die on a Friday Die Day
with instructions on how to assemble the flowers,
the details are here.

It's a lovely die set with beautiful leaves and works well
with card, vellum, felt and thin fabric.

As usual - very easy, to be in with a chance of winning
Stack and Fan Flowers please leave a comment on today's post
and a winner will be announced next week.

Take care friends.

Friday Die Day

Hello friends

This week's Friday Die Day is featuring one of the Contour
steel rule dies - Pillow Box.
This is a die that works in the Platinum machine
and other die cutting machines that take thicker dies.
The beauty of these dies is that you can cut multiples - up to 8 layers,
ideal if you are making wedding favours etc.

You can see from the picture that it cuts and also puts in place the
fold lines.  You need to cut two to create the box.
The finished box measures approximately 3" x 3.75"

I folded up the side tabs and added double sided tape.

You then affix the two together.

Fold in the end sections.

Easy!

Then to decorate.
I die cut Sprigs and Pretty Petals C from white cardstock
and used distress inks to lightly colour.

A stamped tag, twine and gemstones.

Twine and tag in place.

Pretty Petals C and Sprigs added.

I can see this Pillow Box die being very useful indeed!

Take care friends, wishing you a great weekend -
keep warm!

Winter and Summer Combo!

Hello friends

It's a winter card today with a tiny glimpse of summer,
that's the combo of snowflakes and flowers!
This card appeared yesterday on the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L blog here.

Apologies - link button was incorrect yesterday,
I've updated it now! :)

I've used cork for one of the snowflakes - Create A Flake Six.

And that flower is a old favourite - Daisy Flower Topper with a sparkly button
for the middle.

Please pop over to the Scrapbook Adhesives blog for the full tutorial
and if you feel inclined...really appreciate you leaving a comment :)

Today I am 'up north' and demoing at Crafty Interiors, Wolstanton
in Staffordshire - I've packed my warm clothes, tad chilly!

Take care friends.

Introducing Prizm!

Hello friends

Let me introduce you to Spellbinders Prizm!
This is a new machine due to arrive in March 2016
and just announced recently at CHA.

The picture doesn't really show the decorative front which is faceted.

So to answer the questions I've received...

What size dies will work in the Prizm?
Thin metal dies measuring less than 2.25" wide and 8" long.

Is this similar to Sapphire machine?
Yes it is but as Sapphire here in the UK is exclusive to Create and Craft TV
Spellbinders have launched a machine that all retailers can sell.

What sandwiches do you use for cutting and embossing?
The Prizm works very much like the Grand Calibur (but smaller!)
it comes with a base plate, cutting plate, embossing plate and tan mat -
all labelled - handy!

Who will this machine be suitable for?
All crafters!  It is portable, ideal to use on a lap tray in front of the TV,
great for travel or if you have a holiday home, caravan, boat.
Also a great starter machine for new crafters.

As soon as I get my hands on one I will do a blog post in a lot more detail.

Take care friends.

International Ambassadors are blog hopping!

Hello friends

Some of the Spellbinders International Ambassadors are having an
informal blog hop and this time we have chosen as our theme....
favourite season.

We have been having so much fun with these blog hops and delighted at
how many of you visit, play along and leave such lovely comments.
I have chosen Spring, I adore seeing the new buds
and blossom so my card is bright and flowery.
I used some Anna Griffin paper and rounded the corners of
my card front.  Attached a plain white panel stamped with 'Thank You'.

Triple Floral die is used for the little frame placed in the shape of a diamond.

Added some of my favourite flower dies - Marisa's Bouquet to finish.

Pearl gems are the final touch - easy!

For more favourite season inspirational projects please hop along to my fellow
Ambassadors' blogs -  have fun!

Christine Emberson (You are here)

Thanks so much for stopping by.
We will be back with more!
