Bunting anyone?

Hello friends

It's not officially Spring until later next month but I'm jumping ahead
with a Springtime banner.
I created this project for Spellbinders and it appeared on their blog recently.

Using one of the Contour steel rule dies - Three's A Crowd
I created my banner shapes, the burlap/canvas is from a paper stack from DCWV.

The flowers are a combination of all the Pretty Petal sets, A, B, C and D -
love how they all work together.

The lettering is again another Contour die - Type Oh!
and the foliage is created with Romantic Vines.

I really enjoyed putting this project together even if it was thick frost outside!
I don't think you can go wrong with a bit of bunting - always makes me smile.
If you would like to see full Spellbinders post with tutorial images
it can be found here.

Take care friends.

Friday Die Day

Hello friends

Today's Friday Die Day is again featuring one of the new
Amazing Paper Grace dies designed by Becca Feeken.
This is Ladies Shoe.

The die set consists of 5 pieces and this is how they look
cut/embossed.
I've chosen silver mirror card for the shoe base pieces,
spotty patterned paper for the shoe front and
brown card for the bow.

First of all the front of the shoe embosses fold lines,
you fold as pictured.
The patterned paper I've used is My Mind's Eye - Breeze.

You insert the toe of your shoe base.

Fold over and affix to the underside.

The long piece is the bow, bend and fold as shown.

Position and adhere to the shoe, it reminds me of the 'posh' ladies
slippers you used to be able to buy, the ones with the pom poms on the front!

I chose to place my shoe on a card front.
Ivory card base, matted with brown card and patterned paper -
again My Mind's Eye - Breeze.

The finished card.

Would work so well in many different colours and of course
you could make a pair!
Or perhaps a Cinderella slipper?

Ladies Shoe is a pre-order die and available in the UK,
arriving late March/early April.
This collection by Becca is absolutely beautiful,
look out for Gents Shoe too...!

Take care friends.
Have a brilliant weekend.

Home!

Hello friends

Back home from Stitches and sharing some more photos with you today.

Really enjoyed this show, it was lovely to catch up with friends,
retailers and meet new people too,

Lots of interest in the new Art Deco dies designed by Stacey Caron,
the Platinum machine and...

the rather lovely Bag of Tricks.
I use one of these and I can fit so much inside and it's really sturdy,
mine travelled across numerous car parks, moving walkways,
in and out of my car dozens of times and still looks brand new.

This year the show was definitely more focused on knitting and fabrics.

Some gorgeous kits and projects, I would love to have a go at these...
in my spare time!

Take care friends, I'm back again soon.

A Quick Hello from Brum!

Hello friends

Stopping by with a quick hello from Birmingham,
I've had a fantastic day demoing Spellbinders at the NEC.
I had a quick break in the middle and dashed around the show,
a lot of focus on wool and fabrics this year.

I had to share these images with you...Yarnia!
All the characters from Narnia...knitted.

Absolutely amazing, I cannot begin to think how many hours
of knitting this all took.

I will be back with more pics soon.
Take care friends.

Friday Die Day

Hello friends

Today I'm featuring one of the new Amazing Paper Grace dies
designed by Becca Feeken.

This collection of dies is available to pre-order here in the UK.
This is Swirl Stripe Panel.

S4-656

There is an outer rectangular die and an insert,
so they can be combined or used separately.
And this is how it looks cut/embossed.

I've prepared my card base using 6 x 6 Matting Basics,
white card, silver and then white again.

I then discovered some pretty vellum in my scrap box and printed some
invitation wording.

Cut/embossed two of the Swirl Stripe Panels to create 'doors' for my card front.
Secured these at the sides with adhesive.

Small addition of silver leaves and red flowers to finish.

Some close up pics.

A simple design effective for all sorts of cards.

Have a great weekend, as this post goes live I will be
checking everything is packed in my car ready to drive off to
Birmingham for the next few days.

Take care friends.

Midweek Giveaway!

Hello friends

Because Midweek Giveaway proved very popular last week I thought
why not do it again!

How about Woodland Deer?
Maybe a little bit Christmassy but possibly useful at other
times of year?

This is a tag that I made a while ago, wonderful embossing
of features.

The backing paper for my tag is Studio Light - Botanical Garden
and I've also used Phrase Set Two for the 'For You'
cut from gold mirror card.

Also thinking the deer would look lovely cut from beige card and inked.

If you would like to give this deer a home leave a comment
on today's blog and a winner will be picked out next week.

I'm busy in the cabin again today as preparing to demo at
Stitches - the trade show in Birmingham.
I will be there Sunday, Monday and Tuesday ...that's quite a bit of demoing!

Take care friends.
