Friday Die Day

Hello friends

Today a fun card featuring Forest Fox from the Woodland Collection.
I think he/she is rather cute!

The die set consists of all the elements to create the fox
and the approximate measurements are:

Head: 1.80 x 1.50 inches
Body: 1.10 x 2.00 inches
Tail: 0.65 x 0.80 inches
Fur: 0.80 x 1.70 inches
Legs: 0.50 x 1.00 inches
Nose: 0.30 x 0.20 inches

This is how the pieces look cut/embossed.

A card this week and possibly an idea for Valentine's...
The card front is made using A2 Matting Basics and Classic Hearts
to create an aperture.

I assembled my fox and added some distress ink.
The eyes are defined with a fine tip pen.
I typed out a message using the font Segoe Script
and printed onto white card.

Placed some patterned paper - (Lawn Fawn - Let's Polka Mon Amie)
behind the heart aperture.

And then placed my fox inside.
The flower is from Marisa's Bouquet - always handy finding those on my craft desk!

Some close up pics.

I really like the Woodland Collection and I think I've
covered the entire line with my Friday Die Days.

Take care friends and have a wonderful weekend.

"D-Lite"ful Giveaway!

Hello friends

Let's make this Sunday a "D-Lite-ful" one with a giveaway!
Are you craving some sunshine and Spring-ness?
I've noticed everything is early this year, bulbs are sprouting already -
the seasons are a little muddled.
With this in mind I'm thinking flowers - petals...
Pretty Petals C in fact.

I really like this die set - it consists of both larger and smaller petal shapes.

Here's a card project I previously made with Pretty Petals C.

If you would like to win a set, as usual very easy - just leave a comment on
today's blog post.
A winner will be announced next week.

Oh yes I must mention - if you've asked me a question in comments please
check back for a reply - I do get to them eventually :)

Take care friends and wishing you a d-lite-ful Sunday!

Friday Die Day

Hello friends

This week's Friday Die Day features Stack and Fan Flowers,
a die set designed by Becca Feeken who has her own line with Spellbinders
called Amazing Paper Grace.

These dies enable you to create lovely 3D flowers.

The die measurements are approximately:

Petal 1: 2.70 x 1.50 inches
Petal 2: 2.50 x 1.30 inches
Petal 3: 1.90 x 1.05 inches
Petal 4: 1.75 x 0.90 inches
Petal 5: 1.40 x 0.75 inches
Petal 6: 1.30 x 0.70 inches
Small Leaves: 0.90 x 1.8 inches
Large Leaves: 1.10 x 2.25 inches

This is how they look cut/embossed.

I've chosen to use the middle sized scallop edge petal, cut/embossed 9
and also cut 9 from patterned vellum to overlay.

To create the flower you insert a brad through the end hole and begin to stack.

Keep stacking until you have each one inserted.

Then flip the flower over, fold/loop the petal gently and insert the second hole over the brad.

Tip: select a brad with a nice long stem!

The back of the flower.

The front.

My card base is matted ivory, gold and some of the matching vellum.
The stamp is Lawn Fawn - Scripty Sayings.

Then just a case of placing the flower and a couple of the
very pretty filigree leaves cut from matching gold card.

Some close up pics.

They are fun to do and not just limited to card,
try using felt and fabric for a different look.

Take care friends - wishing you all a great weekend.

Your kit will contain:

Hinged lid Tiny Tin

as the winning number will be announced later in the month.
