International Ambassadors are blog hopping!

Hello friends

The Spellbinders International Ambassadors are having an informal blog hop again
and this time we have chosen the theme of 'up-cycling'.
We've been rummaging in bins, skips...well,
not quite but it's definitely rewarding to repurpose an item.

We've been having so much fun with these blog hops and delighted at how many
of you visit, play along and leave such lovely comments.
I hope you are getting to know us and seeing our different styles,
each one of us is unique in our creative styles - so there is something for everyone!

For my up-cycling project I've chosen a frame.
It had been languishing in my drawer for a long time and I hadn't got around
to finding a photo to put inside (no, not even of Bella!)
so I thought I would change it into a home décor piece.

Using 5 x 7 Matting Basics, I cut a piece of patterned paper -
Studio Light - Botanic Garden.
I then stamped flowers and a sentiment - yes, me stamping!
The stamps are Lindsay Mason stamps - Blooms of Hope.
To decorate my frame, I used Ivy
I cut/embossed lots of the ivy leaves in varying colours of green and a few branches
in brown cardstock.
It was then a case of adding all the leaves - quite therapeutic.
Half way there...
Any stalks that showed I inserted further leaves.
I did discover half way through that it is easier to assemble the ivy branches by
placing the leaves on the reverse and then sticking them down!
We live and learn!
The finished frame.
Some close up pics.

  5. Hi Christine. Your comment about rummaging through skips etc. made me laugh. I have an image in my mind of you emerging from a skip covered in rubbish but with a bjg smile on your face while clutching some object to be upcycled and Elliott looking on shaking his head in dispair : )
I love your frame, the Ivy looks beautiful and your stamping is great. Have a good day. Take care xx
