Wow!

Hello friends

So that my boy of mine has announced he is having his own
Design Team!  Wow - he doesn't let the grass grow under his feet.
I did have a giggle at his possible DT name,
I believe he is going to have a new logo - something with a little less fire!

If you missed the details of the DT call on Elliott's blog, take a look here.

OK, I admit I did know beforehand and I think it is a great idea,
Hope and Chances is his baby now, he is fully in charge of the website
and blog and I appreciate he doesn't just want to feature 'Mum projects',
actually he said something like - "I want a variety of styles and techniques"...!

So feel free to send in an entry - you have until 7 September.
It's not too taxing - just one project a month and you get a free die set
and quarterly goodies too.

It puts me in mind of when I started trying out for Design Teams,
quite a few years ago now but it was good experience,
it disciplined me to craft - no way could my mojo go on walkabouts.
One of the very first teams I joined was called Chicken Soup,
it was a mixture of cardmaking and scrapbooking inspired by a picture.

And this was one of my efforts.
A tree picture for inspiration.
And my layout.
Gosh - it's that boy again!
Glad to say my photography of scrapbook pages has improved.
I still like the layout and looks like I used a butterfly die cut as a mask for the
background.  I was definitely in my butterfly period :)

Other news -
Mum is on the mend, it's slow progress but bless her she's been doing some die cutting.

I'm making progress with my craft projects for TV,
I'm back at the studios this week and I hope to have more news and photos to share.

Wasn't Bank Holiday Monday a washout - rain rain go away.
I'm also still in shock it's 1st September today!

Take care friends.

  10. Morning Christine, Elliott is definitely 'taking the reins' haha. Great nostalgia today, and I'm loving your layout.
I really hope that The Craft Channel is on Virgin, as Freeserve on my tv is a terrible picture, when I saw that the presenters were Debbie and Julian, who I used to watch and loved, I was 'sold'.
So glad your Mum is improving slowly.
Lots of love from Patricia xx

  13. Good morning Christine I think we all cringe when we look back at our crafty beginnings but other folk see no problems just lovely creations. Elliott certainly has big plans and it's going to be an interesting time. Best wishes Jackie x

  14. Yes Christine, the year is certainly galloping past - must get going on the Christmas cards or I wont have many made.
Elliott's blog is going great guns. Might have tried out for the design team if I was younger but never seem to have any spare time these days :-( Looking forward to more news about the TV channel too.
Actually not raining here at the moment !!

  15. Hi Christine
The weather this weekend was awful here and has not improved today. I am thinking of crafting an ark!!
I love the idea of Elliott's angels - I always wanted to be Farrah Fawcett or Cheryl Ladd when I was younger so I have had to apply!
I wouldn't dare to show some of my early crafty projects so I think you are very brave - it's lovely by the way - and a great photo of Elliott.
I am sure I read somewhere that the Craft Channel was going to be on Freeview but I must have imagined it as I now can't find the article. I hope it does as I would love to watch you on the TV again.
Glad your mum is on the mend and back crafting - don't work her too hard.
    Take care
    Lesley

  16. Loving Elliot's idea of a design team, not sure I'm brave enough to apply!! So glad your mum is on the mend. Monday was definitely a washout here and now the weather has definitely got an Autumnal feel to it. Back to school on Thursday not sure where those 5 weeks went!! Hope all goes well in the studio this week x
